I’ve had to bring my older black lab in several times for different serious issues. The staff and docs are extremely nice and understanding. Willing to work with me and help when my animal needed help. I’m glad I used this clinic and would recommend to anyone looking!!
I took my cat that I purchased from a shelter to have examed to see if he was neutered. (This was the choice of the shelter for me to visit vca for this.) Next day he was sick. $100 later at MY vet for meds. It wasn’t the cleanest but the staff is nice.
Brought in my kitties earlier this week when we realized they had tapeworm. Super awesome staff checked them out and administered medication which would have been hell to do alone. Just a few days later and my kitties are all better! Can't believe how affordable everything was.
The worst vet I have ever been too! I will never bring my pet back to the VCA in Elkton. The staff was incredibly unprofessional and the veterinarian was obviously trying to make as much money off of me as she could. While I was waiting in the exam room with my cat, I could hear the staff gossiping about me and what I brought my cat in. Saying “ I can’t believe she brought her cat in a cardboard carrier” and laughing. Next the veterinarian examines my cat and suggests a treatment plan of $200 for things like ear cleaning and cytology (look at a swab sample under a microscope) which was $83 alone. I tell her that I didn’t want to pay for any ear cleaning (because I can do it at home) and only signed for cytology and ear medication. Once the veterinarian and the tech leave the room I can still hear them talking about me. Saying “No, you are a good doctor, don’t worry, don’t let her make you feel like that”. I was confused as to why she needed assurance like that, and I felt extremely doubtful of her opinions at that point. So when she comes back in the room, I ask questions like,” why this medication?”, and what is the cytology for if you are going to use this medication regardless”? After looking under the microscope for five minutes, she returns and says “well it is a bacterial infection but it’s not that serious”. That’s the explanation I get for $83? She then tried to sneak a bottle of ear cleaner in the medication bag. I noticed and asked what it was. She said “oh it’s an ear cleaner for about $15”. I was annoyed that I had to repeat myself and say “I don’t want any ear cleaning supplies or services today, I thought I already said that”.By this point, I feel very uncomfortable. I have been gossiped about and a insecure veterinarian is trying to sell me as many products as she can without any compassion for me or my pet. When I leave to pay, the veterinarian changes the cost of the cytology from $83 to $54 at the very last minute without any explanation. I am sure she changed the price because I intimidated her with logical questions. My advice is, if you are going to charge this kind of money for animal services, at least whisper when gossiping about costumers. Show some professionalism, and grow up.
Clean, professional, very nice vets and techs. They take good care of my dog.
